Taco Soup

  • 2 Tbsp. Canola Oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. taco seasoning
  • 2 15 oz. cans crushed tomatoes 
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp masa flour
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can pinto beans
  • 6-8 oz. corn


  • optional add-in  --  1 pound ground beef, cooked 



  1. Add the oil and onion to a large pot over medium heat, and cook until the onion is soft.  
  2. Add the taco seasoning, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salsa, water and masa flour and whisk together.  
  3. Add the beans and corn and bring soup to a boil.  If using ground beef, add it at this point.  
  4. Turn heat down to low and simmer for 10 minutes.


Serve in bowls with shredded cheese and tortilla chips.
