- 1 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk (or 1 cup warm water and 1/3 cup dry milk)
- 1 tbsp. yeast
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 6 cups flour, (a mixture of white and wheat flour works well.
- Mix the water, milk, oil, yeast, sugar, salt in a mixer
- Add the flour a cup at a time until dough is formed and it begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Knead for a few minutes.
- Let the dough rise for 30-60 minutes.
- Divide into 8 equal pieces and let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.
- Roll each piece until flat.
- Cook on hot (350 degree) griddle until lightly brown and bubbly on each side.
The bread will freeze well and can be prepared ahead of time for later meals.
